Welcome to the download page for Jacl & Tcl Blend 1.0. We have a
couple of different download and installation options depending on
your needs & platform.
Requirements
To use Jacl you need the following:
- Java 1.1 or newer. You can download the latest version of JDK 1.1
from JavaSoft's
download page.
- Jacl should also work with JDK 1.2b1.
To use Tcl Blend you need the following:
- Java 1.1 or newer. Tcl Blend is known to work with the
Solaris JVM (Java Virtual Machine).
For other versions you probably need to recompile.
- The JVM must support the
official NMI (native method interface). The Microsoft
JVM have a non-standard native method interface that will not work.
- Tcl Blend will NOT work with JDK 1.2b1.
- A native thread version of Java. (Tcl blend will not work with
Green threads.)
- Tcl 8.0. (Tcl Blend will NOT work with Tcl 8.1.)

Jacl
Binary Release (.class files)
These are .class files compiled with Sun's JDK 1.1 compiler.
They should work on any 1.1 compliant Java virtual machine.
Source Release (.java files)
Tcl Blend
Solaris Binary Release
This package is compiled for SPARC machines running Solaris 2.*
and the 1.1 Java virtual machine.
Source Release
These are all the .c and .java files needed to build TclBlend on your
favorite platform.

 Download Macintosh Version
- We currently do not have a specific release package for
the Macintosh. Unfortunantly, we do not have any plans to do a
version that supports the Macintosh.
